# Traveler Stories

> Web app that tells, as audio and in about five minutes, the history of the historic places around you: castles, churches, monuments, old streets. AI-generated stories based on sources, in three tones (story, history, local guide). Narration currently in French.

Traveler Stories (https://traveler-stories.com/) is a web app (installable on iPhone and Android home screens, no app store) that narrates the history of historic places around the listener: open the map, tap a castle, church, monument or old street, and an audio story of about five minutes starts within seconds.

## What
- Map of historic places around your position or any searched town, worldwide.
- Audio stories of about five minutes, narrated by a natural voice. Language: French for now.
- Three tones: Romancé (live the scene, real dates and names), Histoire (through a real person, sourced facts), Guide local (a storytelling guide, no role-play).
- Walks you can download for offline listening; a travel journal on a globe you can share.
- Stories are written by AI (Google Gemini) from sources (encyclopedias, Wikidata, web research). Facts, interpretation and dramatisation are kept apart. Listeners can report an error; the story is then regenerated.

## For whom
- Walkers, tourists and locals curious about the history of the places they pass; French speakers first.

## Pricing
- Free: stories that already exist near you, and a few famous landmarks.
- Paid: creating the story of a new place uses one credit (credit packs and a yearly subscription, sold in the app). New stories join a shared library.
